The girls are our kids. They run the house with our other cats playing and sleeping where ever they chose. We do not confine our girls unless they have young kittens. I don't believe in over breeding so the girls are usually bred once a year (there is a rare instance when it may be healthier to rebreed them before a year and should that happen this decision is made with our veterinarian) and after a few litters they will be retired to enjoy their days soaking up the sun and playing in our home.
All our queens are PKD (polycystic kidney disease) negative, we use a DNA test sent to UC Davis. They routinely get checked of HCM by a board certified cardiologist.
